Last night, as I watched the Carnival Triumph limp into the Port of Mobile the image of Kathie Lee Gifford in a red bikini (above) popped into my head.

It's weird what's tucked away in the deep, dark crevices of your mind. 

Those of a certain age (old people like me) may remember a cheesy Carnival commercial from the 80's starring Mrs. Gifford.  

See it HERE! Clearly it left a lasting impression on me.

It's silly of me I know, but I couldn't help but wonder if this latest Carnival cruise disaster was some sort of payback for that awful commercial, 28 years late.

To be fair it was the 80's, but karma is a...you know what! Sing it with me: "Every morning every evening aint we got fun!"
